The Property team approached Careys in July 2018 to acquire Tower Business Park in Wembley, approximately 500m from the stadium. There are three separate industrial units, two storeys high with a footprint of 27,639 sq ft. During WW2 buildings were constructed across the entire site; these were subsequently demolished in 1991 with the current buildings being constructed in 1999.
The site occupies a prominent island plot of approximately 1.0 acres and is located in a predominantly industrial area.
Big Yellow completed the purchase of the freeholds by February 2019. The new store proposal is for a self storage facility with approximately 70,000 net sq ft MLA.
The redevelopment proposals were submitted to the local planning authority on 12th May 2020 with consent for the new store granted on 25th August 2020. We are targeting a Breeam accreditation of Excellent.
Construction activities to start once Vacant Possession obtained in Summer 2024.
