Staines Riverside
The Property team identified the opportunity in October 2020 and subsequently agreed terms to acquire the 5.6-acre former gas holder site, completing the purchase in March 2021. It has subsequently been let on a short-term basis to Tesla, who use the site for new car handover to customers, whilst we dealt with planning.
Given the larger than normal size of the site, a planning application for a redevelopment to provide a 60,000 sq ft MLA Big Yellow, together with 6,300 sq ft of Incubator business units, similar to those at Hayes, plus a 9-unit industrial estate totalling 99,000 sq ft GIA, was lodged in January 2022 and a resolution to grant consent was subsequently issued in June 2022.
