The Property team agreed Heads of terms to purchase the former Car Showroom at Staples Corner in December 2022.
The freehold new store replaces the current store at Staples Corner where we have been trading for almost 25 years. The prominent site is located close to the Brent Cross Shopping Centre and adjacent the busy North West railway to Birmingham and Manchester.
The Planning Authority insisted on an iconic landmark design for such a prominent site. The new store proposal is for a self storage facility with commercial flexi offices totalling 135,000 net sq ft MLA at ground floor plus five upper storage levels.
The redevelopment proposals were approved by the local planning authority in July 2024. Demolition and site clearance will be completed by end January 2025. We are targeting a BREEAM accreditation of Excellent.
