What has been your career path to date?

I joined as an Assistant Manager in Kingston before being promoted to a Store Manager in 2015.

What opportunities are available at Big Yellow for career progression?

There are great opportunities to progress both in Stores and Head Office. I believe if you work with integrity, committing to the needs and goals of the business, deliver great service and respect your colleagues you can easily achieve this. I really like that we recruit personalities over skills as we are confident our training programme will give new employees the resources, information and confidence they require to succeed.

How do you manage a positive work/life balance?

I have a very good relationship with my team and know I can trust them to support my decisions in relation to the business. We also make time to socialise outside of work which enables me to get to know them better and really take an interest in them personally. Trust is important in any working relationship, knowing I can talk to my team or line manager in confidence really helps.

What`s most important to you in your career and why?

Work/life balance and happiness within my working environment is very important. Both enable me to focus on what is required of me whilst at work.
