What has been your career path to date?
I have been in senior retail management for 21 years – all at luxury and high-end retail level. 17 years in fashion retail and 4 years in Home and Furniture.
What has been your greatest career achievement to date?
Having the opportunity to work with some great brands and clientele.
Having the opportunity to be a part of a business establishing their training and development departments. Creating new operations and processes in order to develop the business and watching these thrive.
What opportunities are available at Big Yellow/Armadillo for career progression?
There are so many outlooks to progression with BY. Not just for managers but for all levels which is very rare across the retail sector. The ability to widen your skill set is admirable.
What is it that makes Big Yellow/Armadillo a great place to work?
The togetherness and support across the business is great and everyone is so supportive.
How do you manage a positive work life/balance?
I never had throughout my career since coming to big yellow. Now I am a mother it is extremely important and realise the value of it and appreciate my current workplace.
How are you supported in achieving a good work/life balance?
Upper management listening and asking you how you are is so important. Making sure that you are not working when you should be off! I have always had this since I started at Big Yellow 5 months ago and it has been consistent since.
