What has been your career path to date?
I started in Slough as Store Manager, before transferring to Hanger Lane. I was promoted to Area Support Manager working in Watford. In June 2020 I was promoted to Acting Area Manager to cover a sabbatical.
What opportunities are available at Big Yellow for career progression?
As a Company we want to promote within and develop our talent. Team members are encouraged to learn new and transferrable skills. There are many internal courses for the team as well as other modules which can be completed over a period of time.
Tell us what benefits you value the most and why?
The quarterly bonus scheme that we have in stores is fair and the targets are achievable. I use this extra money to improve our home and treat my family.
What is it that makes Big Yellow a great place to work?
For me it is the support available should you choose to use it, there are 100+ stores working towards the same goal and experiencing similar challenges. On top of this the Bagshot departments are approachable as are our directors.
