What has been your career path to date?
I started with Big Yellow as a dual site manager for six years. After moving house, I transferred to Guildford Central.
What opportunities are available at Big Yellow for career progression?
Big Yellow rewards positivity. If you want to do something new, a door will pretty much always be opened for you. My advice is to raise your hand and ask for more responsibility, volunteer to try something new or to take on a new role.
What's most important to you in your career and why?
Job satisfaction - I still get a buzz from "wowing"our customers with the wonderful world of self storage. Also, having the opportunity to support and coach colleagues in their development is a special responsibility and should never be taken lightly.
How do you manage a positive work/life balance?
I get up every morning and want to come to work as I truly enjoy helping people and providing solutions for them. I can then lock the door in the evening and not take any issues home with me. We complete our own rota and can within reason, plan our own time in and outside of work.
