What has been your career path to date?
Before working at Big Yellow, I was a Support Assistant in a few local secondary schools working with children who had additional needs such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia to name a few.
I am now the Sales Advisor at Camberley with aspirations to climb the career ladder in the future.
What has been your greatest career achievement to date?
It's hard to pick just one single thing of greatness as I feel I’ve come leaps and bounds since starting in 2021, but if I have to pick one it would be graduating from the Inspire Course in November 2022.
How have you been supported in progressing your career?
From day one to current I have received copious amounts of support from lots of people throughout the company, but I cannot thank my Store Manager enough for all the hand work she has put in to make me the strong sales advisor I am today.
The ways in which I have been supported is getting an insight into how other stores complete there day to day, undertaking a Level 3 apprenticeship and many 1 -1 sessions with my store manager.
Tell us what benefits you value the most and why?
I value my small but very supportive team instore as we all work together to achieve the same goal and if a member of the team is behind in an KPI sensitive area will work out the best possible direction to get that member of the team to the desired level.
What is it that makes Big Yellow/Armadillo a great place to work?
Support from Everyone! As a new starter I received lots of support from every I came into contact with and having access additional teachings at my fingertips ready for me to dive deeper into a new box sets which will help me grow my knowledge of sales and perform with excellence.
How are you supported in achieving a good work/life balance?
Flexibility is key for me and with this it allows me to have the days off and holiday I require to either go on holiday, have a break or perform on stage with my theatre group which in turn brings me joy whilst providing material for a paying audience to laugh and enjoy their evening.
Every morning it feels me with great pride when putting on my uniform know that I’m going to make someone’s life easier by offering storage at the best price for them enabling them to proceed with their individual situation.
At the end of the day, I know I’ve done a good job when I can walk home with a smile on my face.
